A voice recognition device has been installed in a hospital's elevator in central China's Hubei Province so patients and staff don't have to press the buttons, avoiding the spread of COVID-19.
In the video filmed by the voice recognition device's developer, Pan A'suo, at Yichang No.2 People's Hospital on February 23 Pan was heard talking to the elevator.
He said: "Hello elevator, please close the doors. Go to the third floor, fifth floor and basement."
The elevator then responded to him by selecting the buttons for the corresponding floors for him.
Pan and his team spent around half a month to develop the voice recognition device and installed one in Yichang No.2 People's Hopistal. Two more voice recognition devices were sent to Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital.
