This was the terrifying moment a paraglider who failed to launch came inches from falling off the side of a cliff in Morocco.

Helmet-cam footage from January 26 shows the daredevil taking a run-up but the chute fails to deploy successfully forcing him to trip and only just stop himself from sliding off the cliff.

They explained: "I have been paragliding for seven years and have over 1,000 hours flying time.

"The cliff from top to bottom is about 2,500 feet high and from the cliff edge and for about 1,000 feet is almost vertical.

"During the incident at first I thought I was going to fly away from the cliff with a badly damaged ankle but because I slipped on the rock and twisted my ankle.

"Then I realized I was falling face forward and would not fly away from the cliff a moment of panic made me realize I was going to fall over the cliff.

"As I started to slide on the ground with my body I was thinking just to try and grab something so I stop.

"I came out of the incident with cuts and bruises across my body and a twisted ankle."
