Electricity-free scheme is believed to be a major contributor to the victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly elections. So now the governments of other states are also considering taking such steps to woo the voters. The Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra is also considering giving free electricity. Nitin Raut, who was appointed as the Energy Minister from the Congress quota in Maharashtra, has also ordered his department to conduct necessary studies to provide free power up to 100 units.
दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव में आम आदमी पार्टी की जीत में बिजली-पानी मुफ्त योजना का अहम योगदान माना जा रहा है. लिहाजा अब दूसरे प्रदेशों की सरकारें भी मतदाताओं को लुभाने के लिए इस तरह के कदम उठाने पर विचार कर रही हैं. महाराष्ट्र की उद्धव ठाकरे सरकार भी मुफ्त बिजली देने पर विचार कर रही है. महाराष्ट्र में कांग्रेस के कोटे से ऊर्जा मंत्री बनाए गए नितिन राऊत ने तो अपने विभाग को 100 यूनिट तक मुफ्त बिजली देने के लिए जरूरी अध्ययन करने का आदेश भी दे दिया है.
