Locals and forest department personnel rescued an elephant calf trapped between huge rock boulders in northeast India.
Footage shows the rescue operation carried out by forest officials.
Shortly after, screaming is heard as a large group of men run from the mother elephant and one man is seen being carried away from the scene.
S Hazarika, the Dharamtul Forest Range Officer said: "Some local villagers informed us that a 7/8-month-old elephant calf was trapped between rocks in the hill area and the mother of the calf was roaming in the area."
"We reached the area and rescued the calf," he continued.
According to local reports, one villager was injured after he fell into a ditch when the mother of the elephant calf chased him.
The incident took place at Sonakuchi hills near the Jagiroad area in the central Assam district on Saturday evening (February 2).
