The Philippines has announced the country’s first death as a result of the coronavirus outbreak that originated in China and has spread to at least 26 other countries and territories. As governments beef up measures to contain the virus, China has also announced an outbreak of avian flu in Hunan province, near the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.
