Ahead of Republic Day, security has been tightened in the national capital. Several necessary arrangements have also been made to maintain the law and order situation in Delhi. Republic Day is celebrated to mark the day on which Constitution of India came into effect. On the other side, security has also been beefed up at Western Express Highway in Mumbai's Santacruz on eve of Republic Day. Republic Day is celebrated on January 26 every year.
