This is the stomach-churning moment a cobra regurgitated a live toad after slithering into a car engine to digest the amphibian.
Rapeepat Withee, 53, was having a conversation with a customer at her garage in Bueng Kan, northeast Thailand last Thursday (January 16) afternoon when the cobra darted in from nearby grass.
The mechanic shrieked when the snake quickly slithered undo the car and coiled up inside the engine.
Police arrived to catch the serpent and yanked it down onto the wheel chassis. It then desperately clung on while the slime-covered amphibian emerged from its jaws.
The cobra was finally caught after half an hour and was put into a sack to be released back into the forest. The toad succumbed to its injuries from the ordeal.
The garage owner said the cobra might be starving as the nearby stream has been running dry.
She said: "The snakes usually stay near the damp areas, like streams and swamps, eating toads and frogs.
"However, the drought has caused those places to dry up so it might have been looking around different places when it saw my garage.''
