Kadhai Paneer is spicy paneer dish and one of the most common dish in a restaurant.Kadai paneer is found mostly on menu of every Indian cuisine restaurants. Kadai Paneer is traditional Indian dish made by cooking Paneer/cottage cheese with capsicum/bell peppers,tomatoes and other spices.It is called kadhai or handi paneer as it is cooked in kadhai or handi, you can also cook in a wok. I am sharing easiest and quickest recipe of mine which can be made in very less time if guest arrives.Kadhai/Handi paneer can be enjoyed with butter naan and lachha paratha.If you like my recipe then please like,share and subscribe to my channel Chop n Chill,thanks. Ingredients for the recipe :
300 gm cottage cheese/paneer
1 tbsp of butter
1/3 cup oil + 1 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp oil
1/4 cup thick cream
25 ml + 50 ml of water or as required
For gravy paste :
3 medium size chopped tomatoes(tamatar)
1 and 1/2 medium size onion coarsely chopped (pyaaz)
2 green chilies chopped (hari mirch)
12 cashew nuts(kaju)
1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste(adrak lehsun)
1/2 tsp salt
Dry spices ;
1 tsp of salt or as per taste
1 tsp red chili(laal mirch) + 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp roasted cumin/zeera powder
1/4 tsp of green cardamom powder/hari elaichi
Whole spices :
4 green cardamom/hari elaichi
4 cloves/laung
4 black pepper/kali mirch
1 cinnamon stick/daal cheeni
1 bay leaf/tez patta
1 tbsp of fenugreek leaves/kasuri methi
Additional vegetables :
1 big size capsicum/bell pepper chopped into cubes(shimla mirch)
1 medium size onion chopped into cubes(pyaaz)
Handful of green coriander + little for garnishing
notes : use non-stick pan to avoid sticking and burning.CAn use more or less water depends upon consistency you want.
