At least eight were killed in avalanches in the north Indian state of Kashmir following heavy snows on January 13.
Rescue workers can be seen digging out an area buried by the avalanches, while the heavy snow continues to fall.
According to reports, a group of eight locals got buried under the snow when an avalanche hit the Kallan area of the Ganderbal district the night of January 13.
Rescue parties immediately swung into action and rescued three people. However, the remaining five are still missing.
Late night rescue operations discovered two bodies, and three more were recovered on the morning of January 14.
Three soldiers in the Machil area were also killed in another avalanche on January 13, bringing the death toll to at least eight.
