Passengers and cabin crew rushed to detain a woman who threatened to blow up the plane and attempted to set a t-shirt on fire as the plane was accelerating down the runway at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport on December 18.

The passengers surrounding the woman notice the smoke and try to pry the cigarette and lighter from her hands.

Noticing the commotion, members of the cabin crew grab the cigarette, lighter and cigarette pack out of her hands and pour a bottle of water over them.

According to reports, the woman said, "I am a FETO member, and I will blow up the aircraft", shortly before passengers detained her.

Onur Celik, the filmer, told Newsflare: "She tried to light the plane with a lighter." Hurriyet Daily News reported that the woman was removed from the plane by security guards.

The flight was heading to Nicosia, northern Cyprus, from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
