The southern Philippine island of Mindanao was the epicentre of a magnitude-6.8 earthquake earthquake on the afternoon of December 15, 2019. A series of aftershocks were also reported, and at least three people were confirmed dead as of the following morning. Among the dead was a six-year-old girl who died when a wall collapsed on her, and at least 14 others were reportedly injured.
