In northeastern France, global warming is taking its toll on Christmas trees. From the Norway spruce to the Noble fir, species are dying out at an alarming rate, forcing farmers to adapt to changing conditions. One of these is Jean-Louis Marcinkowski, who has a plot of land in the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park. 20% of the trees he planted in springtime have died, so now he is experimenting with the Rocky Mountain fir, a North American fir tree that is more resistant to heat.
