Civil society groups and some MPs reiterated their call for a total repeal of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) instead of making amendments to make the Act less "draconian".
The civil society groups which include Suaram, Desak Sampai Mansuh, Society for the Promotion of Human Rights (Proham), National Human Rights Society (Hakam) and Bersih 2.0 will be presenting a memorandum to the Home Ministry on Thursday (Nov 21).
On Oct 19, Muhyiddin said the Pakatan government will not abolish SOSMA but would instead amend it to remove some pf "draconian" provisions.
