South Korea's Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo has embarked on a trip to Saudi Arabia to boost bilateral defense cooperation with the kingdom.
It's his first official visit to the country since becoming defense chief in September 2018.
The trip is in response to Riyadh's invitation... following Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to South Korea in June... the first by a Saudi Crown Prince in 21 years.
Jeong recently attended Saudi Arabia's 89th Anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom... which was held in Seoul in September... and met the country's ambassador to South Korea.
Jeong returns to South Korea on Saturday.
