The White House has disclosed a transcript of President Trump's phone call with his Ukranian counterpart... and did so just as the second stage of his impeachment inquiry was starting.
The transcript is of a call between Trump and then-Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky on April 21st.
It was a congratulatory conversation inviting Zelensky to the White House but the text did not match the White House's description at the time.
This was three months before their conversation on July 25th where Trump is alleged to have asked Zelensky to investigate one of his political rivals, which sparked the impeachment inquiry in the Democrat-controlled House.
Meanwhile, President Trump hit out on Twitter at Friday's impeachment witness, former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.
The Democrats claimed the tweets amounted to witness intimidation.
