In Hinduism weddings, marriage is considered complete only after performing rituals and customs. Among these rituals, marriage is the most important. Kanyadaan means donation of Kanya. That is, the father hands over his daughter's hand to the groom. Since then, Kanya has all the responsibilities of the groom.
हिंदू धर्म की शादियों में तमाम रस्म और रिवाज निभाने के बाद ही विवाह को पूर्ण माना जाता है। विवाह की इन रस्मों में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण होता है कन्यादान। कन्यादान का अर्थ होता है कन्या का दान। अर्थात पिता अपनी पुत्री का हाथ वर के हाथ में सौंपता है। इसके बाद से कन्या की सारी जिम्मेदारियां वर को निभानी होती हैं।
