Kakao Corp, the operator of South Korea's main mobile messaging app Kakao Talk, posted record sales in the third quarter thanks to its robust content business.
The company's sales hit a record high of 675 million U.S. dollars in the July to September period, up 31 percent on-year.
Operating profits surged over 90 percent on-year to more than 50 million dollars.
Kakao said the revenue from its platform business jumped near 40 percent on-year on the back of businesses including B2B service KakaoTalk Biz Board and Kakao Pay.
Revenue from its content business also increased thanks to its music streaming service, Melon.
