Right to information has revealed that during the last five financial years, the process of merger or branching has affected the basic existence of a total of 3,427 bank branches of 26 public sector banks. The special thing is that 75 percent of these branches of the country's largest bank State Bank of India have been affected.
सूचना के अधिकार से खुलासा हुआ है कि बीते पांच वित्तीय वर्षों के दौरान विलय या शाखाबंदी की प्रक्रिया से सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के 26 सरकारी बैंकों की कुल 3,427 बैंक शाखाओं का मूल अस्तित्व प्रभावित हुआ है. खास बात यह है कि इनमें से 75 प्रतिशत शाखाएं देश के सबसे बड़े बैंक भारतीय स्टेट बैंक की प्रभावित हुई हैं
