Barack Obama Issues Warning
to the 'Politically Woke' Culture.
In a new speech, the former president scolded people for being too judgmental.
At the Obama Foundation summit, he
added that always being "politically woke" will not bring about real change.
This idea of purity and you're never compromised and you're always politically woke and all that stuff — you should get over that quickly, Barack Obama, via
Obama Foundation Summit.
The 44th president went on to say that
the use of social media has led to
rise of "call out culture.".
I do get a sense sometimes now among certain young people, and this is accelerated by social media, that the way of me making change is to be as judgmental as possible about other people and that's enough, Barack Obama, via Obama Foundation Summit.
He added that everyone has their flaws and that
those you disagree with are still good people.
The world is messy. There are ambiguities. People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids and, you know, share certain things
with you, Barack Obama, via Obama Foundation Summit.
Obama ended his speech by warning
attendees that only attacking others
will not result in much progress.
If all you're doing is casting stones, you are probably not going
to get that far, Barack Obama, via Obama Foundation Summit
