A giant swing which is believed to be the world's biggest has been built on the edge of a 2300ft cliff in southern China's Chongqing and will open next year.

The impressive video, filmed on October 21, shows the 354-foot-tall launching tower and the 328-foot-tall arch of the giant swing at Chongqing Yunyang Longgang Scenic Area.

According to the head engineer named Shi Xuebin, the swing can reach 88-metres high and the maximum speed can be up to 81mph.

The swing had a four-month-long security check meaning it can resist 10-magnitude earthquakes and winds up to 103mph.

The giant swing will open to the public on January 1, 2020, and the scenic spot is planning to apply Guinness World Record in an attempt to be officially recognised as the world's largest swing.
