Riot police use water cannon, stun grenades, tear gas and batons to remove refugees from the Waldorf Arcade in St George's Mall, outside the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Cape Town.

The foreign nationals have been occupying the area since October 9, asserting that they fear for their lives because of xenophobic violence.

The shocking footage, captured on Wednesday (October 30), shows police dragging protesters and attempting to remove children from their parents.
