A Japanese media outlet has reported that Tokyo is unlikely to hold a summit between President Moon Jae-in and Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe next month,... despite a friendly letter sent by the Korean President to Abe expressing the need for such talks.
Yomiuri Shimbun wrote Wednesday that when the Japanese PM had received the letter he requested South Korea to create an opportunity to improve relations, the paper also cited a high ranking official as saying that the ball is now in Seoul's court.
Moon had previously sent a letter to Abe via Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon-- who visited Japan this month for the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.
