북한축구협회, 12월 부산 동아시안컵 때 여자팀 '불참' 통보
North Korea has pulled out of an international women's football tournament to be held in South Korea in December.
The Seoul-based Korea Football Association said its North Korean counterpart recently sent a document saying it will not enter the East Asian Football Federation E-1 Football Championship.
The North did not elaborate on the exact reason for the withdrawal.
The two Koreas, Japan and China were to compete in the women's competition but now Taiwan is likely to take North Korea's spot.
However, a KFA official says North Korea is likely to participate in the 2020 Olympic qualifying tournament to be held on South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju next February.
