Rachel Weisz to Play
Elizabeth Taylor
in New Biopic The film is called 'The Special Relationship'
and will chronicle Taylor's journey from
actress to HIV/AIDS activist. It will be told through the lens of her friendship with assistant Roger Wall, a gay man who grew
up in poverty in the Deep South. Taylor was one of the first major celebrities
to vocally join the fight against
HIV/AIDS in the 1980s. Her philanthropic work up until her passing
saw her honored with several awards. Other actress who have played Taylor on screen include Helena Bonham-Carter, Lindsay Lohan
and Sherilyn Fenn. Weisz received an Oscar nomination earlier this year for her role in 'The Favourite.' She also won an Academy Award for
best supporting actress in 2006 for the
movie, 'The Constant Gardener.' Besides 'The Special Relationship,' Weisz will appear in the upcoming
MCU movie, 'Black Widow.' In a recent interview, the actress said she found it "liberating" to be directed by another woman. Rachel Weisz, via
