If you've noticed more of your hair than usual falling out in autumn, there's no need to worry because doctors say it's normal as long as it isn't too drastic.
However, researchers say there are some things you can do yourself to keep your follicles healthy and keep those strands firmly attached to your head.
Park Se-young has more.
This man in his 30s has been suffering from hair loss …and his symptoms have gotten worse as the season has changed.
In fall, when it's dry and the daily temperature range is wide, …a buildup of dead skin cells on the scalp inhibits the activity of hair follicle cells …and can worsen hair loss.
Hormones also act as catalysts.

"Due to reduced sunshine in the fall compared to summer, the secretion of testosterone increases. When enzymes turn this into dehydrotestosterone, it can inhibit hair growth."

Hair loss in the fall is sometimes the result of insufficient scalp care in the summer.
Those with scalp damage from sun exposure or who have suffered from scalp conditions like folliculitis are likely to experience more hair loss in autumn, …but seeing a dermatologist or using medicated shampoo can help.
Experts say cortisol, a hormone that increases in response to stress, accelerates hair loss …so reducing stress and getting enough sleep can also help reduce hair loss.
