Emergency responders have retrieved the man who has been stranded at the top of Dixon's Chimney in northwest England.
Video filmed on Monday afternoon at the chimney in Carlisle, Cumbria, shows the man being lowered towards a platform attached to a cherry picker.
"Man brought down by scaffolding from top of Dixon’s a chimney where he was stuck for more than 12 hours in freezing conditions," the filmer said.
The local News and Star website reported: "The man who was stranded on top of Dixon's Chimney in Carlisle has been lowered to the ground in the last few minutes. Emergency rope rescue specialists wynched him on to the platform of the 90-metre high cherry picker and he has now been handed over to medical specialists who have been on standby at the base of the structure. There is no current update on the man's condition but his family are being supported by specially trained police officers."
