Bukit Aman’s counter-terrorism chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has rejected the notion that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) whose sympathisers were arrested yesterday is fighting for human rights, saying the defunct Sri Lankan rebel group has been classified a terrorist organisation by Malaysia.
This comes after DAP leaders such as Charles Santiago and P Ramasamy questioned the police over the arrest of seven people, including two DAP assemblymen, on accusations of supporting and promoting the Tamil Tigers.
