The South Korean government and lawmakers from the ruling party have agreed to expand occupational health and safety insurance to more people in the so-called special employment sector generally irregular jobs like chemical transport, door-to-door sales and home tutors.
Meeting at the National Assembly today,... the two sides decided to work on changing the law to give benefits to an additional 2-hundred-70 thousand people in the sector if they get hurt or fall ill on the job.
Currently, in special employment, the law insures around 470-thousand people, who account for just a quarter of the total 2-point-2 million people in the sector.
