சென்னை: நாட்டின் மிகப்பெரிய பண்டிகையான நவராத்திரி விழா நாடு முழுவதும் களைகட்டியுள்ளது. கோவில்களிலும் வீடுகளிலும் கொலு வைத்து கொண்டாடி வருகின்றனர். முப்பெரும் தேவியர்களான மலைமகள், அலைமகள், கலைமகள் இந்த மூன்று தேவியரும் ஒரு ரூபமாக வந்து மகிசாசூரனை வதம் செய்த திருவிழா தான் இந்த நவராத்திரி. ஒன்பது நாட்கள் போரிட்டு இறுதியில் மகிஷனை வதம் செய்து வெற்றி பெற்ற நாள்தான் விஜயதசமி.
