With flying cars looking more likely to become a reality, Hyundai Motor is jumping into the promising future industry.
The South Korean carmaker has appointed former NASA aeronautics researcher Shin Jai-won to head the firm's new 'Urban Air Mobility Division,' which develops technology for air transportation.
Shin is a renowned aeronautics engineer and has worked on cutting-edge aviation R&D at NASA for 30 years.
He said the new division will work to establish Hyundai as a leading force in urban air mobility,… a sector that is expected to grow into a market worth one-and-a-half trillion U.S. dollars by the year 2040.
