On May 29, 1862 US Brigadier General Thomas Williams arrived with six regiments of infantry, two artillery batteries, and a troop of cavalry, to begin the Federal occupation of Baton Rouge.
This engagement would be the only battle in a State Capital during the American Civil War.
This reenactment takes place at the Audubon State Historic Site in West Feliciana Parish.
