Mist formed over mountains and children wrapped up in coats as an unseasonal cold spell hit northern Thailand on Friday (September 27).
Forecasters warned that cold and windy weather will hit northern parts of the country over the weekend - with the chilly spell lasting until Tuesday.
The temperature dropped to 9 degrees Celsius on the peak of Doi Inthanon mountain in Chiang Mai, a popular destination for tourists.
Locals wore coats and hats this morning to stay warm during the cold spell.
Weatherman Thanawut Panjaporn-udomlap said a high pressure system from China had caused the unexpected cold weather.
