Sharp, sharper, Opel Corsa GS Line: With the sixth Opel Corsa generation celebrates the model athlete of the series currently at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt premiere (until 22 September). And the new fiery-red racer has one celebrity ancestors: the legendary Opel Corsa A GSi, which also had its first major appearance at the IAA - exactly 32 years ago - and the first generation of small car sports cars has lost none of its appeal - the newcomer Corsa GS Line and its ancestor Corsa A GSi - a perfect fun-to-drive duo.
GSi - the Opel abbreviation for "Grand Sport injection" (formerly GT / E) stands since the 1980s for the particularly sporty models with the flash and means pure passion. On cadet E GSi and Manta GSi follows from 1988 the athlete in the small car class: the Opel Corsa GSi. A car as dynamic as a motorcycle: ultra-compact, 820 kilograms light, with bold wheel arches, sport seats, 100 hp and 188 km / h. Innovation and driving pleasure for everyone available and affordable, has always been the motto of Opel - and this credo, the manufacturer is always faithful through the decades. The best example is the new Corsa GS Line. Where the new car has its genes, is apparent at first glance. Because just like the 80s GSi, the new Corsa GS Line with its chili-red livery and black roof leaves no doubt that sportiness is trumps.
