Jeo-do Island, previously used as a presidential retreat, is now open to the public,...with a cruise ship carrying two hundred passengers on its maiden voyage earlier today.
Opening the island in Gyeongsangnam-do Province was one of President Moon's campaign pledges.
It had been off-limits for 47 years under military control.
Ships to the island depart from Gungnong Port on Geoje-do Island twice a day at 10:20 a.m and 2:20 p.m.
A maximum of 300 visitors will be allowed on each trip and reservations must be made at least two days in advance.
