청와대, 금년 취업자 증가,... 전망치 크게 상회할 것 전망
The Presidential Office has given an optimistic outlook on the nation's annual job growth.
The senior secretary to the president for jobs said Korea looks to surpass its initial outlook for job growth this year-- to reach an average over 200-thousand jobs created per month.
The official said August's jobs report released last week was a clear sign that the labor market is improving for most sectors and age groups.
Last month, the employment rate was at the highest it's been in 22 years for the month of August and the unemployment rate was the lowest in six years.
The top office added it will work to continue the trend by pre-emptively countering threats caused by industrial restructuring and by strengthening the social safety net.
