Sri Aman, Sarawak has recorded a very unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API), raising the total area recording API exceeding 200 to three areas, as at 8 am on Sunday.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat head, Major Ismail Mahedin from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarawak said the API reading at Sri Aman rose to 299 this morning, joining Kuching and Samarahan to record very unhealthy API reading.
Meanwhile, Kuching International Airport (KIA) spokesman said all flights at are still proceeding smoothly as usual even though the haze situation worsens in the city.
