MANILA - A security officer from San Miguel Corporation was rushed to the hospital Sunday morning, after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a taxi in Malate, Manila. The victim identified as Nelson Alcala was rushed to the hospital by the MMDA Road Emergency group after the collision at the corner of San Andres street in Osmena Highway. Alcala was found unable to move when officials arrived at the scene. The taxi driver, identified as Domingo Maglante, was said to have fled the scene. His taxi with plate number UVW658 was left in the area. According to initial investigations, the taxi driver did not see the motorcycle in the intersection because of the metal barriers in the middle of Osmena Highway. These were said to have been installed because of the ongoing construction of the Stage 3 of the elevated Skyway.
