Chile beat reigning World Cup champions Spain, 2-0, to dump them out at the group stage of the 2014 World Cup. Spain, beaten 5-1 by the Netherlands in their opening Group B match, looked a shadow of the team that triumphed four years ago. Chile had never beaten Spain in their 10 previous meetings, but always looked the more enterprising team. They took the lead with an Eduardo Vargas goal after 20 minutes, and doubled the lead just before halftime. -- Mornings @ ANC, June 19, 2014.
