Derek Fisher has been officially named the head coach of the New York Knicks in one of the first major moves in a makeover of the team led by Phil Jackson. Fisher, a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, takes over from Mike Woodson, who was fired in April. The 39-year-old, 18-year NBA veteran will shift from playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder to steering a Knicks team that went 37-45 in the 2013-14 season. -- Mornings @ ANC, June 11, 2014.
