Lizzo's 'Truth Hurts' Hits
No. 1 on 'Billboard' Hot 100 “Truth Hurts,” which was originally released
in 2017, recently rose from its No. 3 spot to
No. 1 on the ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 chart. The boost came right after the 31-year-old
singer performed a medley of “Truth Hurts”
and “Good as Hell” at the 2019 VMAs. Lizzo took to Twitter to celebrate the
news, saying it is “a [win] for all of us.” Lizzo, via Twitter It is the first rap No. 1 on the
chart by a solo female since 2017,
when Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow"
held the spot for three weeks. Lizzo is only the sixth female rapper to
reach No. 1 on the Hot 100, alongside artists
such as Lil’ Kim, Iggy Azalea and Ms. Lauryn Hill.
