U.S. Forces Korea commander General Robert Abrams is to participate in this week's 8th annual Seoul Defense Dialogue, a multilateral security consultative body... held to promote peace and stability in Northeast Asia and discuss ways to improve the security environment in the Asia-Pacific region.
A military source confirmed that General Abrams is to attend the forum this Thursday... quelling speculation of a chasm in South Korea-U.S. relations.
Confirmation from the U.S. side was uncertain up until now... fueling concerns after Seoul announced that it'll let its military intel sharing agreement with Japan expire.
General Abrams' presence will mark the first time a U.S. Forces Commander will attend the annual event... in which some 50 countries and five international organizations are expected to participate.
