President Trump slammed the "Squad" on Monday.
President Trump on Monday accused the "squad," the term often used to refer to Democratic Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley, of racism. "The Amazon Washington Post did a story that I brought racist attacks against the 'Squad,'" Trump tweeted. "No, they brought racist attacks against our Nation. All I do is call them out for the horrible things they have said. The Democrats have become the Party of the Squad!" In July, he suggested that the Congresswomen "go back" where they came from, prompting many to call him racist. Not long after that comment was made, the Washington Post reported that "Trump believes that race-baiting will help him win re-election in 2020." It also noted: "Our research suggests this approach isn't likely to work."
