Many homes in Zamboanga City's conflict zones have yet to be restored, but this did not dampen the Christmas spirit of the residents. On Christmas Eve, a dance contest and exchange of gifts were held for the children who were affected by the conflict between government troops and the Nur Misuari faction of the Moro National Liberation Front.
