MANILA -- A radio reporter in Iloilo City was wounded after being shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Cuartero, Jaro Tuesday evening. Police said the victim, identified as Aksyon Radyo reporter Jhey Villalva, had just come home from the station and was already entering his house when the suspects opened fire at him. Villalva was rushed to the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds in the leg. The still unidentified suspects immediately fled the scene after the shooting. Recovered from the crime scene were nine empty bullet shells from a 9-millimeter sub-machine gun. According to the victim's family, the ambush try may be connected to the recent commentaries aired by Villalva's station. Villalva also said that days before the shooting incident, a suspicious man has been roaming around his house. -- Report from Kenneth Ladigohon, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
