During her guest appearance on the ABS-CBN show "Gandang Gabi Vice," Journey frontman Arnel PIneda said the donation is their way of giving back to their Filipino fans. "We are so happy to help. Buong bansa ang nag-ampon sa Journey so na feel nila na kailangang ibalik nila ang favor na tumulong sa bayan ko kasi kasama nila ako, napi-feel nila 'yung pain and loss na naranasan ng mga biktima ng typhoon Yolanda," Pineda said. "Isang tawag lang talagang tumulong sila," he added. Aside from the cash donation, Pineda also composed a song for "Yolanda" survivors. "Ako na pi-feel ko lang yung urge na bilang kababayan kung kaya kong gawin ay gagawin ko sa mga helpless yung nawalan ng bahay," Pineda said.
