MANILA - Whistle-blower Benhur Luy testified Thursday before the Senate Blue Ribbon committee hearing on the alleged P10 billion pork barrel scam. In his testimony, Luy said he was hired as the personal assistant of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles after he passed the medical technology board exam in 2002. He said he and Napoles are second cousins. Luy said Napoles introduced him to chiefs of staffs of legislators as her secretary "who would follow up collections and projects." "Because I am a personal assistant, when she put me in the office my work is to record all the transactions that come in the office, for example, collections from DOTC because she transacted with DOTC," he said. He said Napoles also made him president of one of the fake NGOs used as conduits of legislators' pork barrel funds. He said Napoles set up new NGOs after 3 organizations she set up were linked to the P728 million fertilizer fund scam. ANC, September 12, 2013
