The Sema faction of the Moro National Liberation Front does not support the actions of MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari, which has resulted in bloodshed. MNLF-Sema Faction secretary-general Abdul "Kong" Sahrin told ANC Misuari's move is more about power rather than independence. He confirmed that armed troops of the Misuari faction arrived at a coastal barangay in Zamboanga City Sunday night. Some of the Misuari men were carrying bazookas, he said. He said the MNLF-Sema faction supports the government's peace agreement and its mechanisms such as the Bangsamoro Development Assistance Fund. He believes the peace agreement with benefit communities in the ARMM. "No, we do not support this...This is about power. This independence thing is maybe secondary. This is about power. We continue to support the peace agreement and we do not like this thing to happen kasi maraming mga civilians na involved dito. There is bloodshed. We continue to appeal for sobriety," he said.
