Floods in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur have begun to subside although it is starting to rain again in the town. Narvacan, along with the town of Sta. Maria, have been placed under a state of calamity due to non-stop rains since Friday. Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Luis Singson said at least 6 barangays in Narvacan were submerged and one bridge was damaged. In Sta. Maria, the floods in some areas reached the second floor of houses. The municipal halls of Narvacan and Sta. Maria are currently serving as command posts. Singson said food supply is still adequate and local authorities are set to distribute relief goods to affected residents. ANC Dateline Philippines, August 19, 2013
