MANILA – President Aquino led the Philippine National Police’s 112th police service anniversary where he acknowledged the recent achievements made by the PNP. These include the recent bust in Subic over the weekend where police confiscated 2 billion pesos worth of illegal drugs. Aquino also lauded the PNP for the rescue of a Chinese national in the hands of the members of the Abu Sayyaf and the arrest of Ryan Dominguez, the leader of the Dominguez carnap group. The President also commended the PNP for their role in maintaining the peace and order situation during the May polls particularly in the ARMM and Lanao del Sur. He said the PNP has already received 37,578 Glock 17 9mm pistol from a procurement of 74,879 units for the police force. ANC, August 13, 2013
