이태호 외교2차관, 내달 1일 '한일 축제한마당' 행사 참석
South Korea and Japan have called off a lot of events lately because of the difficulties between them, but this Sunday, the Korea-Japan Hanmadang Festival will be taking place in Seoul.
South Korea's vice foreign minister Lee Tae-ho and Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Norikazu Suzuki will be attending.
Tensions between the two sides remain high because of Japan's unfair trade restrictions, so all eyes are on what they have to say.
The event has taken place every year since 2005 when Seoul and Tokyo celebrated the 40th anniversary of normalizing their relations, and it's now become the biggest and oldest non-governmental event they hold.
